Our Ma'ayan teen program takes place on Thursday evenings and serves 8th-12th grade students through experiential education, Jewish learning, and leadership development. Teens choose from electives such as social justice, Jewish art, hot topic debates, and more. The program emphasizes connection- between peers, with adult mentors, and to Jewish life beyond B'nai Mitzvah.
Many Ma'ayan teens also serve as madrichim (teen assistants) in our Sunday Religious School, developing skills in classroom support, communication, and mentorship. Teens in 10th grade and above may apply for a paid madrichim role. All madrichimm, both volunteers and paid, are encouraged to attend our Madrichim Leadership Retreat, held each August at Camp Daisy & Harry Stein.
Ma'ayan students also have the opportunity to travel and explore Jewish life beyond Arizona through immersive teen trups to places like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. These expereinces create lifelong memories and deepen their understanding of Jewish identity in the modern world.
