Shalom — Welcome

Blessed shall you be in your comings and blessed shall you be in your goings. (Deut. 28:6)

Members of TheBayit’s Welcome Team see themselves as energetic hosts who embody the Jewish ideal of “Hachnasat Orchim” (“Hospitality”).

✓  They are good listeners and willing to reach out to members who are mourning the loss of a loved one and may need help with shiva meals, organizing minyanim or who need someone to sit with them for Shabbat Services to recite Kaddish.

✓  They have empathy and are able to “hold space” for the needs of others.

✓  They are committed to providing a compassionate and caring presence in the lives of others.

✓  They will work with clergy to create a system of sharing sensitive information about congregants in need within the parameters of HIPAA privacy laws and confidentiality.
